Sujit Choudhry Faces Constitutional Issues

Most people would balk at addressing issues about constitutions, but Sujit Choudhry faces constitutional issues everyday with a solid grasp of their importance. Among scholars, the topics of transitional constitutions and policies are top news and have high priorities.

In July, 2017, the Center of Constitutional Transitions participated in an international workshop in Kiev. The primary topic was the stability of the Ukrainian system of government at this time. Many constitutional issues around the semi-presidential system were discussed. Professor Choudhry indicated that the relatively new democracy in the Ukraine has not become stable. The primary causes of this instability appear to be weak political parties, concentrated presidential power and an ambiguous legislative electorate. This is one of the examples these experts discussed.

Sujit Choudhry identified an existing wave of interest in constitution making, particularly among transitional democracies. For this reason, it is imperative for leaders in the field of constitutional reform processes to discuss various policy-based options together. The method used is documented case studies and articles regarding transitional democracy and the making of constitutions.   Be updated with his latest work, check on researchgate.com
